My Dirty Little Secrets

Okay, my new cyber-friend, cheeriosonmybutt? thinks we all need a little more honesty in our lives. I think I've been pretty darn honest, showing you what I look like when I wake up in the morning, chronicling my lack of self control , posting my modern art and showing you my seating arrangement. But in the spirit of honesty and freedom from perfection, I'm taking Cheerio Butt's challenge (BTW - Can I call you Cheerio Butt? I thought about making an acronym from your name, but it would be COMB, and that is not at all relevent to your cause.). She is challenging moms everywhere to post pictures of the worst areas of your home. This way we can all take comfort in each other's filth.

To be honest, I think she's just curious.

Here it is. Raw and uncensored:

This is the top of the cabinet I keep all our homeschool stuff in...and on.

This is the laundry pile on my couch, a daily occurrence at Hacienda Supermom.

This is the top of my computer armoire, where clutter abounds. Although I like to refer to it as my "creative muse", giving inspiration for blogging.

Next up we have the dresser in mine and Hubby's room. Allow me to say that most of the stuff there are things Baby dragged out and I have yet to put away. Yeah, that's it. It's the baby's fault.

And last, but not least, is my own personal favorite, the veritable crowdpleaser, the (ahem) Laundry Room:

So, now that I've aired all my dirty laundry - literally - who's next?

You are quite possibly the bravest woman in America.Im trying to get the courage up to do the same.

BTW, I posted a response to your post on my blog......consider it exercise for your brain to use multisyllabic words.

of course, if you put the wrong em-PHA-sis on the wrong SYL-label....

okay, early bedtime for me starts now.

aww, thank GOD. do you know how normal these make me feel! Jeez! Last night I took a laundry basket and just filled it with junk off the floor and put it back in the laundry room so I could assimilate tidyness for a few hours!

Thank you for sharing! I was trying to get the nerve up to post my pics. I will do so in the morning! I walk into my friend's homes and think how do they do it... glad to see that there are people who are more like me.

I.Love.You.

Reading your old posts had me busting a gut. I cant stop laughing about the rice chex stuck to the wall. This is one of those moments I am s glad I don't have a digital camera. My dresser looks exactly like yours.

Can I just take a pic of the outside of my house with a biohazard warning posted on the side? Will that cover everythng going on inside?
Your house is spotless compared to mine...we just moved from a three bedroom to a one and a half bedroom...stuff just doesnt fit...

Oh cool! You are soo brave as well as Miss Flip Flop! And both of you called me Cheeriobutt for short which is totally fine with me because I have shortened it to that myself! I hate to have to type too much! So I was telling Miss Flip Flop that I was thinking about giving out bravery awards and stuff so I might just have to go create one, but it won't be scary like my banner! Ha! which I am going to change because I want people to actually use it and stuff.... :) Oh and thanks for going through the humiliation of posting these to "satisfy my curiosity" :) and to make us all feel more comfy when we visit each other! Peek back Monday for a new topic!

You will NEVER see my "hot spots" in any pictures. I will continue to try and keep my "dirty little secrets" to myself. Of course, that is also why I rarely have anyone over - give me 3 days notice!

I did it... thanks for the motivation!

Here's a new one...your challenge motivated me to vacuum up (actually -- to ask my oldest to vacuum up) the haircuts I did in my bedroom two nights ago! lol. I thank you, my husband thanks you...!

Did you mean to do that?

Hi, found you through flip flop mamma. I see we have a similar laundry room sitch, but mine is half the size so the clothes are piled even higher. Love your blog name!
