Buzz, Buzz, Buzz

Some of our VHS tapes buzz really bad when we play them. Anyone know what's causing this?

I think I know what is causing the problem... you are still using VHS tapes. Your welcome.

Okay, SMARTY PANTS. Thanks for clearing that up.

Check tracking, make sure the heads on the VCR are clean, then throw them all away and buy DVDs.

heheh! LOL!! I'm sorry, I have to agree with both Daniel and thebarefootpoet :)
I know, it may take a while to "replace" some of those favorite vhs taps with their dvd counterparts though.

They're old - and there's 'noise' on the tapes.

That's when we a) toss it, b) replace it with a DVD that my son can toss as a frisbee and scratch up or c) give it to a neighbor.

cost-free solution: tell your kids that it is supposed to sound that way.
