A Scary Sight

When your toddler disappears into the kitchen and is very quiet for many minutes, be afraid.

Be very afraid.

This is what my sweet, precious Baby did to my beautiful cake, all smooth and golden brown on top.

Out of her reach? No. NOTHING is out of her reach. She knows exactly how to push a chair up to whatever surface is too high for her hot little hands.

I was taking it to a Halloween Costume Party for the kids tomorrow.

Whaddya think? Should I slap on some orange frosting and call it good? Or do I leave early for the party so I can stop off and buy some cupcakes?

Slap that frosting on there, somebody will get bonus extra frosting where it fills in the holes!

Fill it with icing! The more, the better!

I fourth that....frosting for sure!!! No one will ever know!

but Momma said...

Frosting, then stick some Nutter Butter headstones and marshmallow ghosts on it for dramatic effect.
:)

I tried to make royal icing, to make jack-o-lantern faces on the cookies I made for Peaches class tomorrow. The icing was too runny. So I added M & M eyes for dramatic effect.

I'm with the other ladies, stick icing on it and maybe if you feel like it stick some decorations on it. Kids don't appreciate all our hard work anyways they are just there for the munching down. Sue

I also say go w/ the icing! From a mother of 3 toddler boys who have very long arms! Ha ha.

I agree frost that puppy and run with it. As for the silent toddler....that goes for silent older children too what's even worse in my house is when I ask "what are you doing?" and first get silence then "nothing"

We all know it's NEVER nothing.

I say you sprinkle powdered sugar on it and call it some kind of a purposely-mangled Halloween cake. Sort of like distressed furniture. Yeah, I meant to do that!

My toddlers (both 2) are the worst for that. I sense a pregnant silence upstairs. Guess I'll go check it out.

I would so be using the frosting. The tops of my cakes never turn out right anyway and frosting is the best disguise. It's kind of like concealer for cake.

BTW - happy belated birthday. Hope it ended up being a great day

Orange frosting covers a multitude of sins, my dear.

I say you take it as is and milk the horror for all it's worth!! Write "Be VERY afraid" across the top, and say that it looks like that because you had a vision of a swamp thing whose skin looked like that while you were baking it.
Come on, buy cupcakes? NO WAY!

I'm with Lori,

I'd get some of that red cake decorations and fill the holes with red-like-blood frosting then put on the frosting and call it "on purpose"

You'd be silly to waste $$ on cupcakes! Frosting will cover it, like all these other great ladies said. I'm also with them on adding some decorations, jazz it up a little ;)
