Disturbing News

I rarely watch the news anymore. It only leaves me depressed. However, since we are getting our third snowstorm this winter (a rarity in our fair state) I thought I'd try to catch the weather and find out what the heck is going on.

But I shouldn't have.

Today I saw something that shook me to the core. It enraged me.

A woman who had her baby in four minutes.

That's right, people. Her water broke and four minutes later she had the baby.

Talk about global warming. Talk about war in Iraq. But this...this is beyond unfair. It's unspeakable. I mean, should she even qualify as a mother? Can we take a vote and have her excommunicated from the Mom Club? Impeached? Something?

Geez. I just can't watch the news.

I guess I just don't understand why that's so news-worthy or a big deal? Our second child was born in six or seven minutes I think... or maybe it was an hour and half... something like that. But really, my wife slept through the first one leaving me to watch the graphs, sweat it out and keep yelling push, push for a few hours all by myself! ;~)

I don't think I this sarcastic on anyone else's blog, really. At least not this often...

I haven't read your blog in a while and I must say that today I came to check in and... I was so amused and delighted that I had to read not just your latest post, but all the posts on the page. ROFLOL. I even showed the poor poor Tootsie Roll to my 11 year old as she was stuffing a peanut butter cup in her mouth.

Coming from someone who had VERY fast labors....It is scary to have them!

I had 5 naturally because my labors went too fast to do an epidural or even an IV on a couple!

So there is a downside!

Aw, 4 minutes? Now that will be a child who gets things done in life. My middle child was born after 27 hours (5 yrs ago). She takes that long to eat sometimes. *sigh*

It can be very scary to have a baby that fast.

But yeah, have fun with that.

I can't watch the news either.

In fact, if it doesn't get mentioned on a blog, I don't know about it...

Little Man was born in 2 1/2 hours (that was 9 years ago) and Girlie Girlie was born in 38 minutes (that was nearing 2 years ago)

So does that up me for being kicked out of the mom's club? I sure hope not since I did both births without a single drug.

You kill me! You know, it makes me ask the question, was this story newsworthy?
