Check tracking, make sure the heads on the VCR are clean, then throw them all away and buy DVDs.
heheh! LOL!! I'm sorry, I have to agree with both Daniel and thebarefootpoet :) I know, it may take a while to "replace" some of those favorite vhs taps with their dvd counterparts though.
They're old - and there's 'noise' on the tapes. That's when we a) toss it, b) replace it with a DVD that my son can toss as a frisbee and scratch up or c) give it to a neighbor.
cost-free solution: tell your kids that it is supposed to sound that way.
